HICIN® – High Integrity Containers

May 14, 2024

Fluorine is the “F” in PFAS, aka “forever chemicals.” Kannar’s new 2.5-gallon, F style, HICIN containers offer a safer, fluorine-free alternative to more effectively package essential chemicals. Fluorine works as a treatment for plastics to package materials that can be difficult or impossible to package in other containers. Containers that use fluorine are one of the ways that PFAS winds up in our environment and our bodies. HICIN containers don’t use fluorine.

“We are seeing an increase in awareness from EPA regulators and the public about what PFAS mean for human health in terms of cancer and endocrine issues,” Yasuo Yazaki, inventor of HICIN, said. “PFAS don’t ever degrade. With our HICIN containers, industries get packaging they can use without risks from PFAS to human health.”

Kannar launched sales of HICIN containers in 2024. “Interest has been strong,” CEO Sam Cloete said. “We know there’s a significant demand for plastic containers that don’t use fluorine. With the potential for a ban from the EPA, we are ready. So far, HICIN is the highest performing, fluorine-free option in this space. We expect the demand to skyrocket. HICIN protects the product and the environment better and surpasses what’s been previously available.”
