About
Kannar Agriscience was founded in 2007 with a clear focus on building seed treatment and plant health technologies that perform reliably for seed treaters and growers alike. From the beginning, our work has been grounded in disciplined research, practical formulation, and a deep respect for the realities our customers face every day. We invested heavily in research before launching our first products, and practical, profitable plant health solutions remain the foundation of our business.
Our seed treatment technologies are applied to more than 100 million pounds of peanut seed each year. With a strong presence in peanuts and an expanding market share in crops such as rice, Kannar goes where precision and formulation matter. We also offer Koasis™ for microplastic-free water-use efficiency and MSP pellets that support large-scale pollinator habitat restoration. Across all of these platforms, our focus remains the same: technologies that are stable, effective, and designed to support the land as well as the crop.
Our customers choose us because our products are backed by rigorous research, deliver consistent results, and are supported by direct, responsive customer service. Kannar operates from a 60,000-square-foot facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with in-house laboratories, production equipment, and a growing team of scientists and professionals who take enormous pride in supporting the industry that feeds us all.
At Kannar, our job is to give growers tools that protect productivity today and preserve it for tomorrow
We recognize that farmers are caretakers of the land, managing today’s crops with an eye toward what the land must provide tomorrow. Our goal is simple: technologies that perform today and help keep working land productive for generations to come.
A Note from Our Founder
I founded Kannar Agriscience in 2007 after years in the corporate world, driven by a lifelong love for agriculture shaped on my grandfather’s farm in South Africa. From the beginning, I wanted to build a company that values careful research, practical execution, and honest performance. Working in agriculture means working alongside some of the hardestworking people in the country, and it is deeply rewarding to see what our customers accomplish when their experience and dedication are supported by the research and technology we build at Kannar. Call me to talk about how our work can support your operation.

Sam’s love and respect for agriculture came from spending time on his grandfather’s farm in South Africa. Naturally good at numbers, Sam earned his Master's in accounting science at the University of South Africa. After moving to the United States in 1999, he launched Kannar Earth Science in 2007 to bring his energy and business skills to crop input research and development. Sam is a champion of environmental stewardship and building products that reflect a long-term commitment to humans and ecosystems. Under Sam’s leadership, Kannar moved from his basement to a 60,000 square foot facility outside of Atlanta with nine employees. Sam lives in Georgia with his three boys.
